"Think Outside the Box"  is an engaging activity that furthers the learning provided in each module, which  can be shared with your partner school at the next online dialogue!

Confirmation through Conversation is an innovative online platform where intermediate students receiving the sacrament of Confirmation can engage virtually with other groups province wide. Together they will participate in five distinct Catholic modules focused around the sacrament of Confirmation.

Teachers and students will be able to explore the five modules that their class will be using to network with other students in their sacramental year. Through technology, schools will be paired with one another automatically. Teachers registering their class will be provided with the contact info of another teacher in a different Catholic school board.

This province-wide initiative allows for students to complete activities in each of the modules and then share their findings online in group discussions as they prepare for their sacramental journey of Confirmation.  By partnering with a school within the province, students will demonstrate the unity and fabric of publicly funded education in Ontario, inspired by Gospel values and serving with faith, commitment, and compassion. We look forward to providing this rich experience during a formative time for these young Catholics.

Each Module contains the following:

"Pope Francis Says" provides the perspective of the Pope as his words reflect on the information provided in the respective module.  This component allows for both teachers and students to reflect on the information within the module and use it during both the activities and online dialogue with the partnering school.

"From The Pulpit" takes a deeper look at scripture and how it relates to the respective module. These passages act as a way to allow participants those involved in the program to reflect on the words spoken, and how they are to demonstrate such words into action in today’s society.

"Watch This" is an engaging section of the program which to allows students to view a video or videos that pertain to the module.  Discussion Questions often refer to this section to assist in the dialogue between partnering schools.  The expectation is that the video is ‘watched’ prior to the virtual dialogue to create an enriched experience for all.

"Appy to Hear It" introduces FREE applications that both teachers and students can download to enhance the experience of the program.  It is encouraged to share these apps with colleagues and peers in the school setting. Each module provides 1-2 apps which are described and available for free download.

"That's A Fact" provides the students with a fun fact regarding the sacrament of Confirmation that connects to the module and allows for more discussion as the modules progress.

"Discussion Questions" are provided for each module to assist in the facilitation of conversation discussion with your partner school, as well as to increase the dialogue moving forward!  These numerical questions are to act as a guide, however, should other ideas present themselves, its encouraged to continue the dialogue as it pertains to the respective schools involved!
